- Increased Reach - Adding a location tag increases the visibility of your post and makes it more likely that users in the tagged area will see it in their social media feeds
How to add a location tag:
1) Navigate to the 'Compose Post ✒️' button in the top right-hand corner. This will bring down the composer tab.
2) Click on 'Select Accounts' and select your Instagram and Facebook accounts from the dropdown menu. You can use the split posting mode to add other channels at the same time if posting across different social media channels.
3) Once you have added your accounts, click on the location tag icon 📍 ➡️ search for the location you want to add in the search box ➡️ Press enter ➡️ Select your tag option.
4) Once you've completed these steps, you can either publish your post immediately or schedule it using the composer. After the post goes live, the location tag will automatically appear on your content on both Facebook and Instagram.
Due to the limitations of Meta's APIs, location tags can only be applied to places linked to existing Facebook pages. When you search for a location, the results displayed are Facebook Pages that have designated that specific location. By selecting one of these options, the API retrieves the corresponding location information from the page and associates it with your post.
