Learn how to approve or disapprove social media message replies within Orlo's approval area. This guide provides step-by-step instructions on your available options.
Things to consider ✅
- Admins will need to disable the 'Reply Unvalidated' permission on social accounts for users that need all content approving
- Admins will need to enable the 'Validate Accounts' permission to approve people's replies
- Admins can enable email notifications, which will alert them whenever a reply needs to be approved. For instructions on how to set this up, take a look at our help guide on enabling notifications.
Adding the approval permission for users:
1) Navigate to the menu in the top right-hand corner ➡️ Click 'Settings' ➡️ Click 'Manage Users' ➡️ Permissions ➡️ Disable 'Reply Unvalidated'
How to approve a Reply:
1) Navigate to the 'Manage' dropdown in the top left-hand corner ➡️ Click the 'Approve Replies' button
2) Once you have reviewed the reply, you can click on the 'Disapprove' button to disapprove the reply or click on the 'Approve & Reply' button to approve the reply.
3) As well as approving/ disapproving posts admins in this area can do the following:
- Disapproval reasons - When disapproving content, admins can add notes for amendments if this needs to go back to the user. The user can then resubmit their content for approval again after any changes have been made.
- Bulk Approve Content - You can select multiple pieces of content by selecting the 'Shift' key, clicking on the posts, then selecting 'Approve' or 'Disapprove'
- View in the inbox - By selecting the 'View in Inbox' button, you can access the message directly in your inbox, where you can approve or disapprove the reply from the inbox. This is useful to see the context of the conversation for the reply
Benefits 🙌
- Increased accuracy - Social media replies can be checked for any errors such as grammar and spelling, and also allows for better consistency of tone of voice for social media replies. This is especially useful when the reply is public
- Peace of mind - Applying the additional layer of approval can be great for replying to posts that contain sensitive content helping to minimise any reputational risk and risk of a crisis arising
Recommendation 💡
Top tip - If you have multiple users who need their replies approved you can use the Teams Permissions functionality to group users, helping to save time on manually assigning permissions to each user.
