Content Calendar Overview

How to access the Content Calendar: 

 

1) Navigate to the 'Marketing' drop-down ➡️ Select 'Content Calendar'

 

 

Calendar View Options:

 

2) You can view the content calendar in a Day/ Week/Monthly view. To switch views, click on the Day, Week and Month toggle in the right-hand corner.

  • When in the day view, hover over the content or click on the post to see the content.
  • When in the week view, click on the ➕ more option to view all posts in an hour timeslot.
  • When in the month view, click on the social icon to see the content. 

 

 

Content Status: 

 

3) You can view the status of your content in the content calendar view. The different statuses of posts are as follows: 

  • Live - Content has been successfully posted.
  • Scheduled - The post has been scheduled for a future date.
  • In Approval - The post is waiting to be approved.
  • Failed - Posts may occasionally fail to publish. If this happens, you have the option to easily retry posting directly from the content calendar.

 

 

View, Edit and Delete content: 

 

4) To view content in the content calendar, click on the content you want to view to extend the post to full view. 

 

 

Once you are in the post for any scheduled content, you can do the following: 

  • Edit content 
  • Delete content 
  • Add/ Change Post Tags 
  • Add/ Change Campaigns 
  • View content on the native platform 
  • Boost content 
  • Copy posts 

 

For Live content, you can do the following: 

  • Copy posts 
  • Edit post text (For Facebook only)
  • Delete content (Not available for Instagram) 
  • Add/ Change post tags 
  • Add/ Change Campaigns 
  • Boost content 
  • View content on the native platform 

 

To change the time of content, simply drag and drop your piece of content to a new timeslot. You will then be asked to confirm that you want to reschedule. 

 

 

Note: Live Facebook content can be edited once it's posted live. This is not available on the API for any of the other platforms

❌ Content can't be deleted on Instagram; this will need to be done natively 

 

View post stats: 

 

5) Social media post performance stats can be viewed in the Content Calendar for individual posts. To view any stats, click on the post you want to look at.  The following stats are available: 

  • Reach 
  • Impressions 
  • Engagement Rate 
  • Clicks 
  • Comments 
  • Likes 
  • Reactions 
  • Shares 

 

 

Add notes to content: 

 

6) For team collaboration, post notes can be added to social media content. This may be alerting a user to say they have spotted a spelling error or adding a note to change the campaign of the post.

 

To add a note click on the post ➡️ add the @ symbol to add a user name ➡️ Add note ➡️ Click 'Save Note'

 

 

The user will be alerted via email to say that they have been tagged in a note in Orlo to then make any amendments needed. 

 

Filters in the Content Calendar: 

 

7) If want to locate specific content such as on a certain social channel or campaign you can filter the content calendar to locate posts. This is also useful if you have lots of accounts connected to Orlo.

 

To filter the content calendar navigate to the 'Filters' icon in the right-hand corner ➡️ Select the filters you need ➡️ click 'Apply Filters' 

 

 

The full list of filters include:

  • Keyword filter 
  • Author of the content 
  • Account 
  • Campaign 
  • Post Tags 
  • Message Type - Type of content such as a share/ image post
  • Scheduled vs Live 
  • In approval 
  • Failed Posts 
  • Deleted content 
  • Sort direction - Assending or Dessending 

 

Toggle Campaigns: 

 

8) At the top of each day, you can view the active campaigns that you are running for the day/ week and month. To toggle on campaigns, click the ⭐ icon in the top right-hand corner where your campaigns will appear. 

 

 

Calendar Events: 

 

9) Calendar events can be pinned to the top of your content calendar, which are visible to everyone in your organisation. These are useful for things such as events that may be running, awareness days that align with your strategy, and any disruptions, or reminders. 

 

To add a calendar event click on the 🗓️ icon in the top right-hand corner and select 'Calendar Event' from the drop-down ➡️ Add the Title ➡️ Add the Start Date and End Date ➡️ Select the colour of your event ➡️ click 'Save'. 

 

 

This will then appear at the top of your calendar for others to see. 

 

Note: Only admin users can create calendar events. This means the 'Administer' permissions will need to be enabled for users who will need access. All users can still see calendar events. 

 

Creating content in the Content Calendar: 

 

10) There are two ways to create content in the content calendar. 

  • To create content for a specific time slot, click on the date and time and select the ➕ button ➡️ click 'Create Post' This will bring up the composer with the schedule preloaded in.  

 

  • To bring down the composer with no timeslots, click on the 🗓️ icon and select 'Create Post'
