Orlo allows you to schedule a first comment alongside your main post. This guide will show you how to enable and utilise this feature when composing your social media content.
Benefits 🙌
- Increased Reach - Some social media platforms may penalise posts that contain links directly in the content. By utilising the first comment scheduling option, you can strategically place links in the first comment, which can enhance the visibility and reach of your content.
- Boosting Engagement -Leverage the first comment scheduling feature to initiate discussions around your content and guide the conversation.
- Including information -Some social networks have character limits for posts. By using the first comment scheduling option, you can break up information into segments.
How to add a scheduled comment:
1) Navigate to the 'Compose Post ✒️' icon in the top right-hand corner to load the composer.
2) To add a first comment, toggle on the 'Share First Comment' option ➡️ Add your text for the comment. You can also use the split post feature if you don't need to schedule a comment for all accounts.
All that is left to do is to click on the 'Schedule Post' option in the bottom right-hand corner!
Editing a First Comment:
1) To add multiple threads, navigate to the 'Marketing' tab ➡️ select the 'Content Calendar'
2) Once you have located the post in the content calendar, click on the post and select 'Edit First Comment' to open the composer to edit the comment.
Note: Editing of first comments is only available while they are still in the scheduled phase. Once the post is published and live, you will no longer be able to make changes to the first comment.
Adding multiple threads on X:
Once your initial post and first comment are live on X, you can add additional threads to expand on the topic. This feature is helpful for posts that contain lots of information.
1) To add multiple threads, navigate to the 'Marketing' tab ➡️ select the 'Content Calendar'
2) Once you have located the post in the content calendar, click on the 'Add to Thread' button.
3) This will direct you to the thread builder page, where you can create your thread with additional information. Click on 'Add to Thread' to open the composer tab, allowing you to insert text, and media, and add a campaign. You also have the option to schedule your thread.
Things to consider ✅
- Links included in the first comments will be automatically shortened and cannot be customised like links shared in the main post. However, if you provide additional UTM parameters with the link, they will still be included.
- All shortened links included in scheduled comments will enable link click tracking. The click data from these links will be included with the original marketing post, ensuring that you can accurately report on engagement metrics through our Marketing and Campaign reports.
