Pulling in RSS Feeds

How to add an RSS feed: 

 

1) Navigate to the 'Marketing' drop-down ➡️ Select 'RSS Feeds'.

 

 

2) Select an account to add the RSS feed to. This will be from a list of your social media accounts that you have connected to Orlo. 

 

 

3) To add a new feed, add a name for the feed in the 'Feed Name' box, copy the URL of the RSS feed into the 'RSS URL' box, and click 'Add Feed'. You can choose to add the RSS feed to the one social media account you selected or across all your social media accounts that have been added to Orlo.

Finding an RSS feed URL: 

 

Some sites will sometimes use this icon to signify an available RSS feed:



To find an RSS feed URL, search on Google, which should bring up the page for the RSS feed URL. One example could be adding the BBC news fee,d which looks something like this -http://feeds.bbci.co.uk/news/rss.xml?edition=uk

 

When you are on the RSS feed page in your web browser, it will look something like this - 

 

This might seem overwhelming at first, but by copying the URL from the top of the page, Orlo will gather articles and present them in a user-friendly format, allowing you to easily access the full article. 

 

Viewing an RSS Feed once added: 

 

1) You can view an RSS feed by selecting the social media account in which you have added it in the 'Post to Account' drop-down. Any that you have added to that account will appear, and you can untick any feeds you don't want to see. 

 

 

To delete any feeds that are no longer needed, click on the ❌ icon on the feed you want to remove

.  

 

 

Using an article for a social media post: 

 

1) Once you have added your RSS feed, any articles that have been published will pull through and display on your page.

 

To view the article on its original site, click 'View'. If you wish to share the article on your social media, click ' + Create Post'. This will open the composer tab and automatically insert the article link into the text area. You can then customise your post before sharing it on your social media page.
