First Comment Scheduling

To schedule a comment alongside your post, click on the "Schedule first comment" button in the bottom left corner of the compose box to toggle the option on, then continue with you publishing/scheduling process as normal.

When you click Publish/Schedule, the below window will appear allowing you to also schedule a comment to be published with the post. As this is a comment, there will be some variation in character count and supported attachments when compared to a post, depending on the social network. This also means that if you are posting to multiple networks simultaneously, you will have to set each first comment one at a time (so make sure you copy/paste if it's going to be the same comment across the board:

You also have the option to skip adding a first comment for a particular account, to be used when posting to multiple accounts at a time.

If you are scheduling a post with a first comment, you will also have the option to edit that first comment by clicking on the button highlighted below, which can be found in the Content Calendar:

Please note:
  • Any links added to first comments will be automatically shortened and cannot be customised in the same way a link sent on a post can be (though additional UTM parameters will still be included if provided in the link)
  • All shortened links in scheduled comments will support link click tracking, with the click totals from the links being added to the original marketing post. This means that click engagement can still be reported on properly through our usual analytics reports
